Creativity presupposes the existence of some philosophical thoughts. Philosophy begins in wonder! It begins at a point when one starts thinking that he knows nothing much about anything. That opens up the mind and one’s mind becomes ready or hungry to acquire every knowledge. However, Mere acquisition of knowledge is not all. Knowledge without analysis and synthesis is of no use. There must be an element of creativity in it, or so to say, an element of building up something new out of the old in it. It is imagination that fuels creativity. The Nature of Imagination

Few words in the English language garner the level of mystic, misunderstanding, and misuse as the word imagination. Used by bards, song writers, and self-help gurus to represent an expansion of the mind beyond the limits created by perception and programming, it is bantered around both as a complement and criticism. While Albert Einstein proclaimed that it is more important than knowledge, still scientists – to include those of a medical ilk – continue to cast suspicion on the value of a vivid imagination. Yet, as it is in many ways the centerpiece of the clinical hypnotherapy, it deserves a serious explanation and exploration.

Where Did My Imagination Go?

Somewhere along my journey through life I lost my imagination. I don’t know if there’s some mystic lost and found box somewhere that you have to go and pick it up again after a certain age or if your mind locks it up after you get and job and experience the “real world”. Maybe it’s more simple than that, like it just silently creeps out of your ear while you are sleeping. In any case all I know is that mine is lost.
