Imagine you are walking alone, on your way home, late at night and you are suddenly surrounded by two, hefty muggers. Just as they are about to accost you, time freezes and out of nowhere Neo, the hero character from the Matrix Trilogy appears and grants you one wish. He says: ” It’s your lucky day because you get to choose one of the following creative, intelligent and talented people to come and help you.”
Today we are going to talk about how to use your mental powers to increase you creative capacity. Your mind is an incredibly amazing tool and a part of the body that we as a people have longed to understand. We understand that it is an electrical part that operates similar to a machine and that we have not even begin to touch the surface on man’s abilities when his brain is in full use.
All of us can think and use our imagination; therefore, we are all creative. The system that we have been educated in and then work within creates the illusion that creativity is the domain of a few.
Lots of young people have some impressive creative ability, whether they are able to perform challenging pieces of music, star in a school play, create captivating paintings, or hold the limelight in a ballet recital. Often such endeavors get the lion’s share of time and focus when people are young, and then priorities shift somewhere along the way. Affording a particular lifestyle can seem much easier in a traditional job, and many times that means that the ballet shoes go into the back of a closet, the paints are put away, the favorite instrument gathers dust, and creative writing goes into speeches rather than novels.
Seers of Spiritual science again and again exhort us to know our true self, to realize it and thus get spiritually uplifted. They command: ‘Atmanam vidhi’ and ‘Atmavarey jnatavya’. This means that man has very little knowledge about the unknown arena of his/her body and he/she does not know that he/she can march ahead on the path of soul advancement. Whenever this wisdom dawns one understands the subtle layers and thus one lives liberated while yet alive. We have the example of Sidhartha who via self reflection/introspection attained wisdom so as to be called Lord Buddha. Yet we do not understand what exactly exists in us which we are not aware of. When we are asked who we are we talk about our name, lineage, clan etc. The physical body is separate from its soul and that the soul is the controller is not known by majority of people. There are so many who study scriptures, give discourses etc yet do they attain Divine Wisdom or Self Realization?
Everything has been cooking along nicely. You’re delivering projects to your clients, your next batch of work is cued up. You’ve worked very hard delivering everything required to create your masterpieces and grow your business. You’re a bit tired, but your enthusiasm is still mostly intact. But at the moment, you couldn’t put together a coherent thought in any medium; text, verbal, video, sketching, or pre-school finger painting, if your life depended on it.
Do you ever feel grumpy, occasionally behave like a loudmouth and sometimes feel paranoid?
What do Thomas Edison, J. D. Rockefeller and Bill Gates have in common?
Every individual on planet Earth has been blessed with one talent or the other. Whether you call it talent or gift, they all imply a form of endowment from God. Some discover their talents or gifts on their own, while others roam aimlessly in life never knowing they carry so much gifts and talents in them.
Creativity is a world of vastness. We often look in wonder at others creativity as they are the “special” ones. Yet, you are just as special in your own way and creativeness. You are the only YOU! There has never been or will be another you! Take a step back and ponder that thought–YOU, yes YOU, stand alone in your own uniqueness in all of time.
